For about 30 years volunteer hospice care has been a part of Bert Dean's life. Working with the Visiting Nurses Association in Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as volunteering as a chaplain at Gifford, Dean helps bring comfort to those in their last stages of life. (Herald / Tim Calabro)
